Eliminating Fear

If you have read any of my other articles, you may have noticed that fear is a recurring theme.
In order to achieve true freedom one cannot remain fearful.
One must eliminate fear.

The following text is heavily inspired by Brian Tracy’s “The Phoenix Seminar”.
If you are serious about taking full control of your life I highly recommend watching it.

In order to effectively eliminate fear one must first understand what fear is.
Fear is caused by negative imagination.
Fantasized Experiences Appearing Real.

The most common cause of fear is lack of control.

There is a directly proportional relationship between the amount of responsibility you accept and the amount of control you experience over your own life.
By reducing your responsibility you give away control.
Less responsibility → Less control → Less freedom

Many people embrace the victim mentality.
They fall in love with their suffering.
It is easier to blame someone for your situation than it is to take responsibility and change it.

Analyze the people around you.
Everyone is a victim of another victim.
You must break this cycle.

Stop blaming others.

No matter the situation, always accept full responsibility.
Stop blaming the government for taking half of your income in taxes, blame yourself for not finding ways around it.
Stop blaming doctors for prescribing you toxic pills, blame yourself for not seeking natural remedies.
Stop blaming your friends and family for judging you, blame yourself for allowing their judgement to impact your actions.

Understand that you are always in control of your emotional response, physical well-being and financial situation.

According to a study about worries:
40% of worries never materialized
30% of worries were in the past
12% were needless health worries
10% were petty and irrelevant worries
8% were substantial worries
And only half of the substantial worries were controllable.

So how does one eliminate fear?

The only real antidote to fear is purposeful action.

Start by living one day at a time.

Always get the facts before creating fearful scenarios in your mind.

Clearly define your worry in writing.
Determine the worst possible outcome.
Resolve to accept this outcome should it occur.
Immediately begin to improve upon the worst.

The conscious mind can only keep one thought at a time.
Whenever you catch yourself with a fearful thought make a conscious effort to replace it with a thought of desire.
Then immediately take action towards achieving that desire.
